Welcome to the Free League Workshop!

This is the home of fan creations for games such as Mutant: Year Zero, Forbidden Lands, Coriolis – The Third Horizon, Tales from the Loop, Symbaroum, Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying, and Twilight: 2000 4th Edition. Using this community content program you can create, publish and sell your own content on DriveThruRPG.com and share your creations with the rest of the world!

Collected in the pages associated with this program you can find adventures, expansions, rules supplements and more, making this a treasure trove of material for your next game.

As a creator, you are free to set any price you want, provide your own design or use one of our provided templates. You decide. Using this program we hope to bring the sparkling creativity of fans all around the world together, making our games and worlds even better.

How you can publish your own content

We have collected a set of guidelines and instructions in the Content Guidelines page. You will need to have an account at DriveThruRPG.com and you are required to use the Free League Workshop logotype and the relevant legal text for the game you are creating content for. You can set the price you want to sell your content for, or make it completely free. You will then get half of the proceeds.

We are providing layout templates in both Indesign and Word format that can be downloaded and used for free. You will find more information about these in the Content Guidelines.

After creating your content, go to your account page and look in the "My Content" section. You can use the "Add a new title" link after you agree to the Community Content Agreement. Once content is published, it will appear in the Free League Workshop. You'll be able to check your sales history, view reviews, and other information using your Account page on DriveThruRPG.

Have fun creating!

AI Art

This Community Content Program follows the DTRPG Guidelines with AI Art.

Tool- and AI-Generated Images

The following policy applies only to titles listed by publishers on DriveThruRPG. Other sites and community programs are, for now, exempt from these rules.

3rd Party Tool-Generated Images

All product listings that feature art or maps generated using a tool or service designed to reduce or offset the artistic process (such as donjon, Inkarnate, or Dungeondraft) are required to utilize the Format > Creation Method > 3rd Party Tool-Made title filter, except in the following instances:

the tool uses only art assets that you have created by hand;
the art has undergone additional processing or modification post-generation (such as animating generated maps or tokens, painting and compositing over content, etc.); or
the product is expressly approved by OneBookShelf.

AI-Generated Images

All product listings that feature art created automatically by an AI-generation tool meant to bypass or replace human artistry, such as ArtBreeder, MidJourney, NightCafe, etc. are required to utilize the Format > Creation Method > AI-Generated title filter, except in the following instances:

the art has undergone significant processing/modification post-generation; or
the product is expressly approved by OneBookShelf.

Note for AI-Generated Stock Art

Titles containing any art rendered by AI-generated tools that are sold as "Stock Art" (under the Product Type > Publisher Resources filter) must also display the following statement in their product description:

This product contains assets that were, wholly or in part, procedurally generated with the aid of creative software(s) powered by machine learning.

Titles that do not comply are subject to removal from the marketplace. Repeat offenders may have their publishing permissions revoked.

Logos and Trade Dress

The Free League Workshop logo must appear on the cover of your work. It needs to be legible when viewed at full size. It does not need to and should not be the primary logo or title on your cover. You may not use any other logos or trade dress from Free League Publishing publications.

Pricing and Payment

You can offer your creations at a set price, “Pay What You Want,” or free of charge ($0). You can check the site for sales data, plus ratings, and reviews of your offerings. You are free (and encouraged!) to promote your creations via social media and other outlets where roleplaying game fans gather.

Based on historic data from DriveThruRPG sales for pdfs, the most successful set price points are $1.00, $2.00, $2.95, $3.95, $4.99, $7.95, $10.00, $14.95, and $19.99. You should also compare your price to existing or similar products to get a sense for what the market is used to.

Once you’ve activated your title for sale, you’ll start seeing royalties accumulating equal to 50% of the sale price per item sold. You can withdraw this money via PayPal by going to the My Money section of the Account page. Note that the My Money section of your Account page will not display until you have a balance accrued.

There is a $2 fee to cover the cost of each withdrawal, but you will pay no other fees to receive your money. Royalties on a sale are available for you to withdraw 60 days after the sale.

To prevent certain types of fraud, we must hold back the amount of royalties you earned in the past 60 days from being eligible for withdrawal. The amount eligible for withdrawal at any time is your total account earnings balance less the amount earned in the past 60 days. You may use your earnings as site credit to pay for orders on site; this will lower your earnings balance and the amount eligible for withdrawal.

Will the Alien RPG be added to the list of titles found here on the free league workshop?

The image in the banner on DTRPG advertising this scheme is from Tales from the Loop, which does not appear to actually be included. That's... odd.

Contrary to what is stated in this article, the templates bundles do _not_ contain files compatible with Affinity Publisher.

Is it an oversight? Would it be possible to provide updated versions with Affinity files? That would really be great! Thanks!

@David_Chart . Seems the page has been updated after launch, the legal text for Tales was here earlier, which calls for an edit history of the page (that don´t exist atm) to get the full context.

@Jimmy Ringkvist: Ah. So the plan was to have Tales included, and then something happened. That explains it. I assume the banner will get changed in the near future. Thanks for the info.

Can we use Forbidden Lands rules but with our own "house rules" and assumed setting?

For example, if we have a personal setting that has different Kin, or that doesn't have Druids as written, can we add our own Kin and take on spellcasting classes?

Or if for rules there was a minor tweak for combat that doesn't use the modifiers for Doge vs Sweep or Stab, but it's otherwise the same - would that be okay to have in a quick "differences from standard FL" sidebar or section?

So I'm talking minor modifications, but NOT anything like a totally new game that's based off the Year Zero engine (as interesting as that project would be for me, mind you, that's not what I'm thinking).

It seems that the FLW logo AI file is not included in the Symbaroum template.

Does the Twilight: 2000 license give all of the content created by the author to GDW/FL? There is no mention of "all other original material" in the boilerplate provided.
